With a history of remodeling and new home construction we feel we can offer a more insightful analysis of a home. To date we have completed over 120 audit/retrofits for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company's (BGE) and Delmarva's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® programs with an average incentive check of $1425 back to the client. A recent report from BGE (Q1-2013) indicates Greenlight Construction provides clients a savings to investment 48% higher than the program average and cost per kilowatt saved is 42% below the program average. Meaning we do more with less of your money.
Existing Home Energy Audits
One of our areas of expertise is Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®. Home Performance assessments of an existing home helps us determine the most cost effective and energy effective upgrades. The improvements we make to existing homes not only increase comfort, improve indoor air quality, but also have significant cost saving benefit. Many improvements we undertake for our clients are eligible for Federal tax incentives and Cash Incentives from the different utility programs in Maryland.
Remodeling Planning and Implementation
New Building Codes coming to Maryland in July 2012 that will require a third party blower door and possible duct tightness test performed. Call or e-mail if you have questions or are interested in this service.
We also coordinate remodeling and new construction projects with area General Contractors and NAHB Green Verifiers. This enables us to use the knowledge learned from Energy Audit retrofits and implement energy efficienct strategies at the time of construction.
